One of the best parts of working on “Off the Beaten Path” was getting out and exploring new places to ride with my dog, Emmie. Over the course of filming, I began to realize how many shots we had of “Emmie and Me”…so many, that a segment came together that wasn’t part of the original plan.
We’re doing premieres/screenings of “Off the Beaten Path” now and will announce plans for the full release soon, but, in the interim, we hope you enjoy watching “Emmie and Me”…
The Bijou Bike Park is more than just some dirt jumps – it’s a place where everyone and anyone can come to enjoy the great outdoors on a bike. There’s something for everyone there – all ages, all levels of ability. Places this cool don’t spring up overnight. There was a long process and lot of volunteer hours involved to make this happen, And that’s what this video is all about.
There’s some really rad riding in the video too. Heck, even Cameron Zink is in there. But this video is about how the Bijou Bike Park came to be and how cities and towns can work together with area non-profits to make something truly special. Why’d we make this video? Well, we hope this becomes a blueprint for other communities and we see more and more bike parks popping up soon!
First Tracks was brought on to put together this quick turn-around, action-heavy edit showcasing the capabilities of Turner’s new RFX…
This was fun to shoot/put together, but I wish I’d gotten a chance to ride it! Iggy had perma-grin the whole time we were out there. After his first day on it, Iggy said, “this is the most fun bike I’ve ever ridden”. High praise from a former pro DH rider. And, this bike does more than just crush descents. At sub-28 pounds and with DW-Link suspension, this bike will get you some Strava PRs on the climbs too. Find out more at: Turner Bikes
It’s pretty cool when two groups that may not have played too nicely together in the past get together and do something truly great. The recent work on Corral Trail in South Lake Tahoe, CA showcases the coming together of the mountain bike community – fostered by TAMBA (Tahoe Area Mountain Bike Association) and the US Forest Service to create mountain bike specific features for users of all abilities on public lands. Yeah, pretty cool.
As avid mountain bikers, we’re incredibly fortunate to have this in our backyard and we encourage you to come ride some laps. Until then, check out the story of how it all came together and see some action from the new features!
This morning I got out to Glen Alpine Falls just south of Fallen Leaf Lake near Lake Tahoe. If you haven’t been there and are ever in the area, put it on your Tahoe to-do list…you can drive right to it. I was fortunate to have the whole area to myself and I spent about an hour getting shots from the air and from the ground…check it out!
Lake Tahoe Summerfest is a world-class celebration of the arts that enriches the cultural, educational, and economic vitality of the Lake Tahoe Basin. Our quest is to provide extraordinary music, art, theatre, and seminars to local, national, and international audiences. This was a tough one to shoot as it was hard not to just relax and enjoy the amazing music and experience in front of me…
Lexi’s 2013 season was easily her best one yet. Yeah, she learned a bunch of new tricks and that was part of it, but the main thing is, she had a lot of fun. It was really cool to see in person and I think this video showcases the good times she had…Check it out! And, then check it out again and see how many of the shots were switch!
