Corral Trail – Mountain Bike Community / Forest Service Partnership…

It’s pretty cool when two groups that may not have played too nicely together in the past get together and do something truly great. The recent work on Corral Trail in South Lake Tahoe, CA showcases the coming together of the mountain bike community – fostered by TAMBA (Tahoe Area Mountain Bike Association) and the US Forest Service to create mountain bike specific features for users of all abilities on public lands. Yeah, pretty cool.

As avid mountain bikers, we’re incredibly fortunate to have this in our backyard and we encourage you to come ride some laps. Until then, check out the story of how it all came together and see some action from the new features!

Capturing Waterfalls from the Ground and Air…

This morning I got out to Glen Alpine Falls just south of Fallen Leaf Lake near Lake Tahoe. If you haven’t been there and are ever in the area, put it on your Tahoe to-do list…you can drive right to it. I was fortunate to have the whole area to myself and I spent about an hour getting shots from the air and from the ground…check it out!

30 Seconds of Fall…

Winter and Summer are what the Tahoe area is most well-known for, but Fall is a pretty amazing time too. Mountain Biking, Fly Fishing, and taking in the Fall colors among the wildlife…not too shabby. We put together this 30-second clip to showcase Fall is just as good a time visit Tahoe as the beach days of summer and the pow days of winter. Check it out:

Up mountain. Down mountain. Around mountain. Oh, and for 24 hours…

The Ragnar 24 hour trail relay came to Sierra at Tahoe recently and we put together this highlight video of the action. This was a really fun event and a great example of what First Tracks can do with even a small budget. Anthony was a one-person crew this day shooting the photos toward the beginning of the video as well as all of the video (including the aerial shots). See what 24 hours looks like in 1.5 minutes:

Fireworks and Mountain Bikes…

The 4th was a great time in Tahoe. Part of the fun for us involved fireworks and mountain bikes – not together. Though, the thought of two people riding at each-other with roman candles is intriguing and something I expect to see on a reality show in the near future, our capturing of these things occurred at different times over the holiday weekend. Thanks to Amy and Ben from TAMBA (Tahoe Area Mountain Bike Association) for being willing models. And, thanks to Tahoe South and all parties involved for putting on such an amazing fireworks display.

Alexis Roland…2013 Teaser

We have almost as much fun filming with Lexi as she does riding…Even when she ends up in the frigid waters of Lake Tahoe, she still has a smile on her face. So once we got her out, we didn’t feel bad laughing. Lexi still has a lot of filming left, but check out some what she’s been up to in her 2013 teaser. Her full video part will drop sometime this summer.

It’s ok, I’m an addict too…

People who visit Tahoe South to ski and snowboard just can’t seem to get enough of it. That’s ok; not all addictions are unhealthy. First Tracks Productions came up with the premise and produced the intro for Tahoe South’s new “Get Your Fix” video. We then mixed in some really strong and fun skiing and snowboarding footage that we shot all around the South Shore to give people a taste of what they can experience during winter in Tahoe South.

See you at the next meeting:
