Revamped site coming soon/See what we’ve been up to…

This past winter in Tahoe was amazing and we were busy capturing as much of it as we could. Now that things are starting to settle down, we’re working behind the scenes on a new website. But, you want to see what we’ve been up to now? Fear not…you can check out what we’ve been up to by following our Facebook page and seeing our photos on SmugmugP1240243-2_jpg

72 miles. 5 cameras. 1 person crew…

What can First Tracks do on a small budget? Can a 1-person crew cover a 72 mile event in a single day? Check out this video from the DeCelle Memorial Lake Tahoe Relay – the oldest distance relay in the US, with a course that goes around beautiful Lake Tahoe to find out…

“Off the Beaten Path” Full. Film. Free.

What are you doing for the next hour and six minutes? Nothing? Cool. Hang out and watch “Off the Beaten Path”, our adventure cycling film that, hopefully by the end of that 66 minutes, will have you wanting to get out of your chair and out exploring…

From desert dunes in Nevada to an ice tunnel under a glacier in Iceland, “Off the Beaten Path” showcases that we’re not limited to pavement or traditional dirt trails when it comes to cycling adventures.

Emmie and Me

One of the best parts of working on “Off the Beaten Path”  was getting out and exploring new places to ride with my dog, Emmie. Over the course of filming, I began to realize how many shots we had of “Emmie and Me”…so many, that a segment came together that wasn’t part of the original plan.

We’re doing premieres/screenings of “Off the Beaten Path” now and will announce plans for the full release soon, but, in the interim, we hope you enjoy watching “Emmie and Me”…

Behind the Dirt: The Story of the Bijou Bike Park

The Bijou Bike Park is more than just some dirt jumps – it’s a place where everyone and anyone can come to enjoy the great outdoors on a bike. There’s something for everyone there – all ages, all levels of ability. Places this cool don’t spring up overnight. There was a long process and lot of volunteer hours involved to make this happen,  And that’s what this video is all about.

There’s some really rad riding in the video too. Heck, even Cameron Zink is in there. But this video is about how the Bijou Bike Park came to be  and how cities and towns can work together with area non-profits to make something truly special. Why’d we make this video? Well, we hope this becomes a blueprint for other communities and we see more and more bike parks popping up soon!

“Off the Beaten Path” Extended Trailer…

It’s alive. Well, it’s almost Halloween, so that seemed appropriate. The extended trailer is now live and you can check it out below. We’re still revamping the site and we’ll have more photos and info about the film when that’s complete, but, until then, take a few minutes and enjoy watching the places that bikes allow us to go…

48 Hours on the new Turner RFX…

First Tracks was brought on to put together this quick turn-around, action-heavy edit showcasing the capabilities of Turner’s new RFX…

This was fun to shoot/put together, but I wish I’d gotten a chance to ride it! Iggy had perma-grin the whole time we were out there. After his first day on it, Iggy said, “this is the most fun bike I’ve ever ridden”. High praise from a former pro DH rider. And, this bike does more than just crush descents. At sub-28 pounds and with DW-Link suspension, this bike will get you some Strava PRs on the climbs too. Find out more at: Turner Bikes
