Cuteness Overload: Orphaned Bear Cub at Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care…

Baby “Tahoe” is an orphaned female cub that was brought to Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care in mid-April. She’s not quite ready to be outside in their bear enclosure, so we got to see her up close and personal as she explored her surroundings…

Capturing Waterfalls from the Ground and Air…

This morning I got out to Glen Alpine Falls just south of Fallen Leaf Lake near Lake Tahoe. If you haven’t been there and are ever in the area, put it on your Tahoe to-do list…you can drive right to it. I was fortunate to have the whole area to myself and I spent about an hour getting shots from the air and from the ground…check it out!

Where’s the Carson Valley Rider now?

First Tracks Productions has been working on a fun social media video series for the Carson Valley Visitor’s Authority. To kick off the campaign, we produced a video searching for a “Carson Valley Rider” – someone who could really showcase all that Carson Valley has to offer. Once the Rider was found, we introduced her (and her horse) and set off for adventure… So far, we’ve hung out with Elvis, had a beer at Nevada’s oldest bar and gone snowboarding. Summerfest Concert Series at Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe Summerfest is a world-class celebration of the arts that enriches the cultural, educational, and economic vitality of the Lake Tahoe Basin. Our quest is to provide extraordinary music, art, theatre, and seminars to local, national, and international audiences. This was a tough one to shoot as it was hard not to just relax and enjoy the amazing music and experience in front of me…

Introducing, the Carson Valley Rider…

Here’s the first video in that series:

Gene Upshaw Memorial Foundation – Golf Tournament/Cancer Center Video…

Gene Upshaw was NFL hall-of famer and head of the NFL Players Association…but he was much more than that. And the Gene Upshaw Memorial Foundation honors his legacy through their support of the Tahoe Forest Cancer Center. And, one of the ways the Foundation raises money is through an annual golf tournament that brings in top former NFL players like Marcus Allen and the greatest female golfer of all-time, Annika Sorenstram. First Tracks was brought in to raise awareness of both the Cancer Center and the Tournament in one video…Check it out:

Fat Tires, Not Just For Drinking…

I’ve been a bit antsy of late with not quite enough snow to be hitting the backcountry but too much snow to take out one of my mountain bikes, so I decided to rent a Fat Bike from Sierra Ski and Cycle Works here in town and I gotta say, it was tough to bring it back. I felt like a little kid playing in the snow. And, after a couple of days on it, I started to realize how much potential Fat Bikes have – and not just on snow, it was great in mud and tacky dirt too. Fat Bikes are really bringing year-round mountain biking to just about every area.

Here’s a quick clip thrown together from the past couple of days riding solo (none of my friends have a Fat Bike – yet). I put a Panasonic LX7 on a Xsories bendy tripod to supplement the GoPro shots). So, nothing crazy for the production value (or the riding), but some nice views and some Fat Bike stoke. Check it out!

Thanks Xsories
