Dylan Heinstein 2014 Snowboarding Edit. He’s 9. He’s good. He’s fun to watch…

We got a chance to follow one of the top kids in a snowboarding around for a few days this past Spring. Dylan has that sort of easy and relaxed style on a snowboard that you don’t expect to see from someone his age. Maybe it’s the skateboarding background, maybe it’s natural talent, maybe it’s that he truly loves to ride and enjoys learning new tricks…Whatever it is, it’s working. Expect to see a lot more from Dylan in the coming years.

Just one day after releasing the video, OnBoard Magazine has picked it up – you can see what they had to say about Dylan here.

Introducing, the Carson Valley Rider…

Carson Valley is a pretty amazing place…And, there’s no lacking in things to do there and in nearby Lake Tahoe. We’re helping them get the word out by producing a video series showcasing the winner of their Carson Valley Rider contest checking out all that Carson Valley has to offer. Here’s the first video in that series:

7 and 8 year-old snowboarding brothers. Don’t feel bad, they’re better than me too…

Dylan and Ethan are a combined 15 years old. That’s about the age I started snowboarding. And, already, they’re doing some things I’ve never done (and never will do). That’s ok, it’s all about having fun anyway (that’s what I keep telling myself). First Tracks only got to shoot with Dylan and Ethan for one day this season, but they picked up a few shots here and there on their own and out at USASA Nationals (where they both made the podium) and we put together these fun edits for them – check it out!

Alexis Roland…2013 Teaser

We have almost as much fun filming with Lexi as she does riding…Even when she ends up in the frigid waters of Lake Tahoe, she still has a smile on her face. So once we got her out, we didn’t feel bad laughing. Lexi still has a lot of filming left, but check out some what she’s been up to in her 2013 teaser. Her full video part will drop sometime this summer.

Talking about Groms on Outside Television

You don’t need to be the next Shaun White, Dylan Heinstein or Alexis Roland to get a fun video that your family will treasure. Interested in having First Tracks film with your child or family? Let us know

Lake Tahoe’s affiliate of Outside Television recently had Anthony on to talk about some of the amazing kids we work with here at First Tracks Productions:

Play Day…The Cross on Mt. Tallac

AC, dropping in
AC, dropping in.

Our work is usually a lot of fun. But, sometimes it's great to get out and leave the big cameras behind and focus on enjoying the beautiful backcountry we have here in Tahoe. On Saturday, January 12, I got out with Jeff, an AT skier, and Nils, a tele skier (see, we really can all just get along) for a tour on Mt. Tallac.

It was a cold (-3 degree) start, but the sun was strong on the skin track and the winds were basically non-existent. Throw in some fresh snow, and you have an amazing day. We got to the top and saw there were no tracks in The Cross, so the plan was pretty much made for us. Jeff was kind enough to take some stills…

Thanks to Prior Snowboards and Flylow Gear for making products I dig.
